Privacy Policy

Last updated: [DATE — fill in when published]

Ride the Snake ("the game," "we," "us") is developed by DBX Gaming. This policy explains what information the game collects, why, and who it's shared with.

What we collect

An anonymous player identity. When you first open the game, we create an anonymous account for your device — a randomly generated ID with no name, email, or phone number attached. This lets your progress (streaks, scores, crown status) save and sync across sessions on the same device.

The nickname you choose. If you set a nickname, it's shown publicly to other players on leaderboards and crown displays. Don't use your real name if you'd rather stay anonymous.

Gameplay data. Your streaks, personal bests, combo records, and which in-game "Worlds" you've played, all tied to your anonymous player ID — used to power leaderboards, your daily Crown status, and your own stats.

Basic usage analytics. We log when you open the app and general gameplay events (like completing a tutorial, clearing a round, or retrying after a loss), tied to your anonymous player ID. This helps us understand which parts of the game work well and which don't — it is not used to build an advertising profile of you.

Advertising

Ride the Snake shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device and advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads, under Google's own privacy practices — not directly controlled by us. You can review Google's practices at their Privacy Policy, and manage ad personalization through your device's settings.

What we don't collect

Where your data is stored

Gameplay and account data is stored with Supabase, our backend provider.

⚠ PLACEHOLDER — confirm Supabase's hosting region (check your Supabase project settings) and add it here, e.g. "servers located in [region]."

Your choices

Since your account isn't tied to any personal contact information, there's currently no self-service way to view or delete your data from inside the app.

⚠ REAL GAP, NOT YET SOLVED — this needs a decision, not just copy. Right now there is no deletion mechanism at all, in-app or otherwise. Minimum viable fix: add a line here directing players to email support@ridethesnake.app to request deletion, and actually be ready to manually delete a player's row from Supabase when asked. Apple, Google, and GDPR (relevant given you're in the EU) all generally expect *some* real path to deletion — "email us" is a legitimate one, but it needs to actually work if someone uses it.

Children

Ride the Snake is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
